Twerdoclib, Garry June 21, 1945 – February 8, 2017, aged 71 years, entered eternal rest at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with his loving family at his side.

Garry was born to Victor and Mary Twerdoclib (nee Ginetz) on the family farm in the Norquay District, where he attended Melmore School travelling on horseback, and later by bus to Norquay School.  He first worked for Rudachyck Brothers in Arabella, but Garry being an adventurer, traveled to B.C. with his Uncle Mark Ginetz to look for work. Eventually, he was employed by Ralph Guest, the owner of D&G Excavating in Coquitlam, B.C.  Ralph has also been a lifelong friend. Garry met the love of his life, Marla Sutherland in Jan. '65, on a blind date. They married in Vancouver, on Apr. 29, '67 and moved to Sask. to begin farming.  They alternated between living in B.C and Sask. In '75, they moved to Sask., permanently. In 1998, they moved to Norquay, where he continued to operate their business G&M Excavating Ltd., until his passing.

His children, grandchildren, and all of his family were his first priority.  He loved them all dearly and nothing was more important than spending time with them. Garry loved to “play”, whether it was hockey, curling, bowling, snowmobiling, quad riding, boating, playing ball or his favourite, playing with his grandchildren. He also loved to ride horses and joined the Blue Sky Riding Club where the whole family participated.  Garry farmed for 30 years, but his passion was operating machinery.  Garry was a man who lived his life by his values, including generosity, dependability, trust and perseverance.  He was an active member of the United Church both Maloneck District and then Norquay.  He is predeceased by his parents Victor and Mary, his in-laws Jack & Margaret Sutherland and sister-in-law Rena Randall.

Garry is survived by his loving wife, Marla; son Sean (Janet), daughter Kelly Shyngera, son Cory (Trina), five grandchildren: Nolan, Jared, Taylor, Regan and Paige; one sister: Valerie (Jim) Jeske, two brothers: Stan (Joanne), Robin (Bernadette), Grant Shyngera, nieces, nephews, Marla's large family, many friends & acquaintances.

Funeral service was held February 17, 2017 from the Norquay Communiplex with Rev. Margaret McCallum officiating. Interment service at the Maloneck Cemetery – Pelly District, with family and friends, preceded the funeral. Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions, in memory of Garry, to Norquay United Church, 45 1st Ave SE. Norquay, Sk., SOA 2VO.
