Obituary Image

"Josie", was born to Remi and Amelia Off (Betz) in the St. Phillip’s District. She was raised on her family’s farm until she met, then married William Seitz on October 16, 1946. After the wedding they moved to the farm, into a house that was built by Bill and his brothers in 1945. They lived on the farm for 41 years. Josie worked hard on the farm and enjoyed cooking, baking, and in the evenings would love to knit. In 1948, Josie and Bill welcomed their first son, Larry and a year later their second son, Kenneth, completing their family. All four of them lived on the family farm. Josie and Bill retired into Pelly in 1986 into a house, allowing Ken and Larry to operate the farm.

After the passing of her husband October 1989 she remained in Pelly in her home for several years, until her move to Yorkton in 2006. Unfortunately, because of the decline in her health she moved to Eaglestone Personal Care Home in Kamsack in 2003. Josie fell and broke her hip a few months ago and later had surgery, but never fully recovered. Josie passed away peacefully at the Kamsack Hospital with her son Larry, brother Lawrence and sister-in-law Violet at her side.

During her 99 years of life she accumulated many memories which she was always willing to share. Josie, rest in peace, we love you and will miss you.

Josie leaves to mourn her passing to her son Larry, sisters; Terri, Irene, Frances, brother; Lawrence, grand-daughter Alexis, and grandsons; Jordan and Ryan. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son Kenneth, sisters; Annie, Amy, Mary, and brother George.
