Uncle Bob…. You always had a big smile for us whenever we came to visit and when the conversation got going you didn't go more than a minute without joking and then grinning from ear to ear again. I loved that about you.
I remember how kind and generous you were and how special you made us feel. The trips to Yorkton with my sisters to shop and then have supper at the Holiday Inn were a real treat! You were always proud of our accomplishments and made sure we knew it. In later years I heard the same kind of pride when you talked about your own daughters and grandchildren. You were loving, gentle and kind and loved your family dearly… and we loved you too Uncle Bob, and always will.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you Sharon in the loss of your husband and Shannan and Shanneen (Bryna) in the loss of your father.

My heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences go out to my Aunt Sharon, "the girls" and my extended family at the passing of Uncle Bob. He will forever be missed. My memories of him will always be warmed by the recollection of his wide grin and smiling eyes. Time spent with him was easy and I always felt more grounded after any opportunity I had to be in his presence...my own personal testament to Uncle Bob's gracious and generous nature.

I will miss your big smile and positive outlook. Like Billie, I remember the shopping trips and the special dinners you took us (your nieces) out to....all the way to Yorkton :). I will always remember you as someone who gave and loved generously. You had this way of making us all feel very special. You were a kind and loyal and loving man. We will all miss you dearly. My heart goes out to Sharon at this time as well as Breanna and Shannon. I pray you are at peace. Love Deb

I will miss my Uncle...I will always remember him as a happy man, always glad to see you and interested in knowing that life was treating you well. As a boy I have good memories riding my first bike that Uncle Bob gave me. As a teenager I will remember him laughing and having fun with my brother and I during harvest. I will remember his big smile and heart felt welcome home being the first introduction to Kamsack for my wife Lorraine. I will remember catching up with Uncle Bob on visits home over the years. Always happy to see you and hoping that life was treating you well. I am grateful for my memories.

It was so sad to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was one of the "big boys" at Bear Stream School when I first started school there. In my mind he remained a "big" person thereafter--always friendly and helpful, kind, honest, generous, hard-working--and all topped off with an irrepressible sense of humour. To Sharon and to all of Bob's immediate and extended family, sincere condolences for your loss. He will be missed.

Uncle Bob..I will always remember that wide grin and your generosity. Always doing something for others. I remember feeling like I was something special when you drove my sisters and I to Yorkton to shop for clothes before the school year started in your brand new Cadillac! You sat in Rickys waiting patiently- while I'm sure we tried everything in the store on. And never stopped smiling. You were a good man...You will be missed

Our heartfelt condolences to Sharon and the Helmkay family. Bob was an appreciated school and play mate in our younger years. We both attended Bear Stream mostly during the same years. Bob always reserved me a warm welcome on the rare occasions that we met in the years that followed.
Sincerely, Ron

Bob was the "gentle Ben" of your family from as far back as I can remember...the cousin with the big smile. Blessings to all...
